Dr. Rachna Kumar Secures Contract for Business Education to Unemployed Worth $500,000
Dr. Rachna Kumar, core California School of Management & Leadership (CSML) faculty member, has been awarded a contract of up to $500,000 from Able-Disabled Advocacy, a non-profit community service oriented corporation based in San Diego. The work will be part of a larger project titled TECHWORKS, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor鈥檚 Employment and Training Administration (ETA); the contract will operate for the next 3 years.
The purpose of the program is to provide education and training for employment readiness in the information technology and healthcare segments. The focus will be on delivering technology-based and classroom learning to 100 participants from the unemployed sector in San Diego County, and includes internship and employment support for participants. The program will also give particular attention to enrolling some students with disabilities. Dr. Kumar will be working with CSML core faculty member Dr. Rene Naert to facilitate this project.
This is the second contract Dr. Kumar has received for CSML from Able-disabled Advocacy. Last year, she was awarded a contract to help support education for veterans in San Diego.
